Selling tours in Porto on GetYourGuide: prices & mix
What Porto’s GetYourGuide first page sells, what it charges, why Douro day trips sit on top, and where a single-city operator can find room.
Short answer: Porto’s GetYourGuide first page is mostly a Douro Valley day-trip page. On our latest check the median tour cost €51 (range €18–€123) and the median rating was 4.8. The top ten tours don’t carry more reviews than the rest of the page, which is unusual. For a single-city operator, the sight pages and non-Douro products are the realistic place to start (OTAlytics Porto report, checked Oct 19, 2026).
This note is for operators who sell tours in Porto and only Porto. It uses the free preview of our Porto report, which records GetYourGuide’s first page for Porto, as seen from the United States, at least weekly. Sponsored tiles are skipped, so every position is organic. Like our Rome and Lisbon notes, it doesn’t promise a ranking formula. GetYourGuide doesn’t publish one.
What do Porto tours cost on GetYourGuide?
The median “from” price on Porto’s first page was €51, with tours running from €18 to €123. Half the page asks more than €51 and half asks less, and the top of the range sits further from the median than the bottom does. The median has moved down 8.2% since our tracking window opened (Porto report, checked Oct 19, 2026).
The top ten charge a little more than the page as a whole: a median of €55, against €51 across all 20 ranked tours. For comparison, on the same day Lisbon’s first-page median was €33 and Rome’s was €42 (Lisbon and Rome reports, checked Oct 19, 2026). The higher median mostly reflects what Porto’s page sells.
What kind of tours rank in Porto?
Douro Valley day trips hold the top of the page. All three tours in the free preview are Douro trips that combine wine tastings, lunch and a boat:
| Rank | Tour | Operator | Rating | Reviews | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Douro Valley with Boat Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch | CMTOUR | 4.7 | 23,407 | €55 |
| 2 | 2 Wine Regions, Farm-to-Table Lunch & Boat (up from 5) | aDayinDouro | 4.8 | 9,383 | €80 |
| 3 | Douro Valley Tour with Lunch, Boat Cruise & Tastings (down from 2) | Luxury Composition Lda | 4.6 | 3,188 | €55 |
The largest group of similar tours on the page is the “Douro Valley with Boat Tour, Wine Tasting & Lunch” type: four tours, best rank #1, a typical price of €55 and a range of €54–€123. Sixteen operators share the 20 positions, and five tours changed position this month.
So if you sell a Douro day trip, your real competitors are those few tours in that group. Your price is judged against a €55 typical price with a narrow floor. €54 is the cheapest in the group, so there’s little room to undercut. If you sell something else in Porto, such as a walking tour, a food tour or a port-cellar visit, you aren’t really competing for the city page’s top slots at all.
How many reviews do you need to rank in Porto?
Fewer than in Rome. The top ten on Porto’s page carried a median of 2,568 reviews, against 2,777 across all 20 ranked tours. In other words, the leaders don’t have more reviews than the rest of the page (Porto report, checked Oct 19, 2026).
That’s the opposite of Rome, where the top ten carried a median of 19,047 reviews against 8,364 for the whole page. Lisbon’s split was 5,162 against 1,815 (Rome and Lisbon reports, checked Oct 19, 2026). In Porto, review count alone doesn’t explain who sits at the top. GetYourGuide’s own help centre says ranking also weighs conversion, revenue and availability, not only reviews (GetYourGuide, How ranking works, updated Apr 8, 2026).
Recent reviews are concentrated, but less so than in Rome. The three suppliers with the most new reviews in the last 30 days took 40.7% between them: Manos do Douro (623, 14.5%), CMTOUR (609, 14.1%) and aDayinDouro (520, 12.1%). In Rome the top three took 67.2% (Porto and Rome reports, checked Oct 19, 2026).
Where can a single-city Porto operator find room?
Go to the sight pages
We track four Porto points of interest, each with its own first page. They look nothing like the city page:
| Sight page | Tours ranked | Median price | Range | #1 tour (reviews, price) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Porto Cathedral | 20 | €30 | €8–€140 | Porto Cathedral Guided Tour with Entrance Tickets, InsighTours (383, €16) |
| FC Porto Museum | 17 | €25 | €12–€218 | FC Porto: Museum & Tour, FC Porto Museum (4,687, €17) |
| Porto Legends | 17 | €23 | €11–€150 | Porto Legends – Immersive and Metaverse Experience, Ocubo Criativo (1,321, €11) |
| SEA LIFE Porto | 17 | €22 | €12–€56 | SEA LIFE Porto: Full-Day Entry Ticket, SEA LIFE Porto (790, €19) |
Two things stand out. First, every sight page has a median price of €30 or less, against €51 on the city page. Second, the Porto Cathedral page has very thin review counts: its top ten had a median of 1 review, against 3 across all 20 tours. Its #1 listing has 383. A well-built, honestly described cathedral or old-town walk is up against listings with almost no review history.
Port cellars show up everywhere
One listing appears in the top three of three different sight pages: Graham’s Port Lodge Tour with Premium Wine Tastings (Symington Family Estates, 4.8, 2,239 reviews, €40). It is #3 on FC Porto Museum and #2 on Porto Legends and SEA LIFE Porto. A Cálem cellar tour (5,344 reviews, €22) is #3 on Porto Legends. Port-wine experiences clearly get matched to a lot of Porto searches.
Price against your group, not the city
The €51 city median is mostly a Douro number. A city walking tour priced against it will look expensive next to the €22–€30 sight-page medians where it will actually be shown. Check the median and range of the page where your product appears, and price inside that band unless you have a visible reason not to, such as a smaller group, a longer duration or included tickets.
What should Porto operators check before scaling?
- RNAAT registration. In Portugal, businesses selling tourist-entertainment activities (animação turística) must register with Turismo de Portugal’s RNAAT and hold the required insurance. We cover the details, fees and exemptions in our Lisbon note. The rules are national, so they apply in Porto too (Turismo de Portugal, RNAAT).
- Boats. If you run the boat part of a Douro trip yourself rather than buying it in, read Turismo de Portugal’s FAQ for maritime-tourism operators as well (FAQ, May 2024).
- GetYourGuide’s DST surcharge doesn’t apply in Portugal. From Oct 1, 2026, GetYourGuide adds a digital-services-tax surcharge for operators in France, Italy, Spain, Türkiye and the UK. Portugal isn’t on the list (GetYourGuide, About Digital Services Taxes, checked Oct 19, 2026).
FAQ
Is Porto a good city to sell tours on GetYourGuide?
It has a high-priced, Douro-led first page (median €51) where the leaders don’t have much deeper review counts than the rest of the page (checked Oct 19, 2026). Whether it’s good for you depends on whether your product sits in the Douro group or on a sight page.
What’s the most common tour type on Porto’s first page?
Douro Valley day trips with wine tastings, lunch and a boat. They held all three of the top positions on our latest check.
What to do with this
- Open the Porto report and decide whether you’re in the Douro group or on a sight page.
- Note that page’s median and range, and where your price sits.
- If you’re on a sight page with thin reviews, put your effort into the first 20–30 reviews. Ask every guest in person.
- Recheck your position on a schedule, not when bookings drop.
The full Porto report shows all 20 ranked tours, all 16 operators with an estimated share of turnover, and this month’s movers. It costs $39 a month for one city, billed monthly, and you can cancel any time. See pricing.
