Pompeii’s single ticket from January 2027: what changes for Naples–Pompeii day trips
From January 1, 2027 Pompeii sells one €25 ticket, valid 30 days. What Naples day-trip operators should check before then.
Short answer: From January 1, 2027 the Archaeological Park of Pompeii introduces a single ticket for all of its sites at €25, valid 30 days with one entry to each site. Tickets stay nominative: the visitor’s name is on the ticket and ID must be shown. The 20,000-a-day cap on Pompeii stays. If you sell a day trip from Naples that bundles entry, check your ticket costs, your booking flow for names, and your product copy before January (Parco Archeologico di Pompei, notice of Sep 14, 2026).
This note is for operators who sell tours in one city, here Naples, and run Pompeii as their main day trip or as part of a combo with Vesuvius or the Amalfi Coast.
What exactly changes on January 1, 2027?
The park’s official notice says a new tariff system “to make buying tickets simpler” takes effect on January 1, 2027. Its core is a single ticket for access to all sites of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, at €25.00, valid 30 days, for one entry to each site (pompeiisites.org, Sep 14, 2026).
The same notice confirms separate tickets for the other park sites:
| Ticket from Jan 1, 2027 | Price |
|---|---|
| Single ticket, all park sites, 30 days, one entry per site | €25.00 |
| Oplontis only | €8.00 |
| Archaeological Museum of Stabia only | €8.00 |
| Boscoreale only | €8.00 |
| MyPompeii Card (annual) | €45.00 |
What it replaces. Today’s price list (in force since Jan 12, 2026) has three main options: a €25 ticket for the ancient city plus suburban villas and Boscoreale, a €20 ancient-city-only ticket, and “Pompeii Plus” at €30 valid three days across the wider sites (pompeiisites.org, timetables and tickets). ETOA reports that the 2027 system replaces Pompeii Express and Pompeii Plus (ETOA). The park’s own notice doesn’t name the products being withdrawn. Check the 2027 price list on the park’s ticketing site before treating any current option as withdrawn.
Is the ticket still nominative?
Yes. The notice confirms the nominative ticket for all ticket types, bought online or at the ticket office, with a valid ID that must be shown, and keeps the 20,000 daily entries cap at Pompeii. The park’s access rules already say a nominative ticket is personal and not transferable, that staff can check ID at every entry, that a mismatch means no entry and no refund, and that name or date changes are not allowed (pompeiisites.org, access rules).
For operators, the practical issue is the same as today: every guest’s name has to be collected before the ticket is issued, and a last-minute swap of guests can’t be fixed at the gate.
What does this mean for a Naples day-trip listing?
Three checks before January:
- Your entry cost. If your product used the €20 city-only ticket, check the 2027 price list before you set next year’s entry cost. On a tour priced near the market, a change of a few euros a head matters.
- Your product copy. Remove “Pompeii Express” or “Pompeii Plus” wording, and decide whether to sell the 30-day validity as a benefit (guests can come back to Oplontis or Stabia later on their own).
- Names at booking. Make sure your OTA booking questions collect every guest’s full name as it appears on ID.
How are Pompeii tours priced on GetYourGuide today?
Our Pompeii page tracks the GetYourGuide first page for Pompeii (as seen from the United States). On the last check, 16 tours were ranked, with a median “from” price of €60 (range €20–€124). The top ten’s median price was €36, well below the page median, and the median rating was 4.0. The median has moved up 12.3% since our tracking window opened (OTAlytics Pompeii page, checked Nov 1, 2026).
On the wider Naples first page, a “Pompeii and Vesuvius Day Trip with Pizza Lunch” type of tour sat at #2, and that group’s typical price was €60 (range €59–€74). The Naples median was €49 (OTAlytics Naples report, checked Nov 1, 2026).
The point isn’t that anyone must reprice. A €25 entry cost is a large share of a €30–€40 entry-plus-guide product and a much smaller share of a €60 day trip with transport. The tours at the bottom of the price band are the ones to watch in January, when we’ll re-check the page.
FAQ
How much is the Pompeii ticket from January 2027?
€25 for the single ticket covering all park sites, valid 30 days with one entry per site (official notice, Sep 14, 2026).
Which sites does the single ticket cover?
“All sites of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii.” The notice prices Oplontis, the Stabia museum and Boscoreale separately at €8 each. It does not publish a longer site-by-site list.
Do I still need names on Pompeii tickets?
Yes. All ticket types stay nominative and visitors must show valid ID.
Can I change the name on a ticket?
Under the current access rules, no. Name and date changes aren’t allowed.
Is Pompeii Plus being discontinued?
ETOA says so. The park’s notice doesn’t say it in words, so check the 2027 price list when it’s published.
